Newborn Father

So for my first post i wanted to talk about something REAL...and not my likes, wants, desires like fashion, music, and whatever else. So here it is. I became a dad at the age of 20, and let me tell you, it rocked my world. I was so mixed emotioned it's not even funny. I knew I had to make things happen and soon. I was away being a starving college student living off Ramen noodles and came back with barely anytime to get prepared. Put it this way, I got married, a job, a place, a vehicle, and most of all a newborn son all within one month. I told you, my world was rocked! Anyway, yes i provided as a dad, but on the real just recently have I become a Father. There's a difference. A HUGE DIFFERENCE. I found a new love in last year or two for being a Father than ever before, and the great thing is that i believe my boys have found a new love for their Father. Kids sense the difference in love whether it's less or greater. As parents, I think we all hope for a greater love towards our kids, but not sure how many of us work to give it. I am definately trying to work on that greater love towards them and instilling the same passion into their lives to benefit their children , my grandchildren. I remember being with my dad when he was at the office, and hearing the quote "All you can do, is all you can do...and all you can do, is enough." - Art Williams. I definately agree, but how many of us are doing ALL we can do? I know I can do much more and it'll change their lives in a great way. It's taken a few years of being a dad outside to birth a newborn father inside. I'm not where I want to be, but thank God I'm not where I use to be. One love. Keep lookin up.

  1. Awesome Post POP! You're right, the most important thing in life is to learn to become a father. I as you know being your father had to learn the same way. Your grandfather died when I was at the age of 15 and you suffered the consequences for that. One day I said enough is enough and started to seek God and learned to become a better father. We will leave a legacy that will change a generation. Keep doing what you're doing and remember you set their limits by what they see you do. Remember to bless them daily with Numbers 6! May the Lord bless you... Remember I'll be there for you and your boys anytime you need! Love you, Larry (Dad)
